MechDiary is operated by Somvilla (somvilla.com), registered in England and Wales. References to "we", "us" and "our" refer to Somvilla.
We collect data you provide directly, including your name, email address, workshop details, and payment information. We also collect usage data automatically, including pages visited and features used, to improve the product.
Workshop customers (the vehicle owners who book through your booking page) have their name, email, phone, and vehicle data stored in your workshop account. That data belongs to you as the workshop owner.
We use your data to: provide the MechDiary service, process payments via Stripe, send transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders, invoices), and improve the product. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Data is stored in a UK-based PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase. Row-level security ensures each workshop's data is isolated from others. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers.
If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days, after which it is deleted. You can request earlier deletion by contacting us.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@mechdiary.co.uk.
This marketing site uses no tracking cookies. The app uses essential session cookies for authentication only (via Clerk). We use Plausible Analytics on the marketing site — it is privacy-preserving and does not use cookies.
